The Empowering Englewood writing group began meeting in the fall of 2015 to share “hopeful stories that too often get buried under the headlines of despair,” as Veronica Mercado writes in her introduction to the magazine.  Started by mothers living in Englewood, the group met weekly to write and share stories.

The magazine “Women with Purpose: Stories from the Empowering Englewood Writing Group” is part of what the group created during their time meeting together.
